Our Jewish community in Prague is very small. Presently we have 1,800 registered members, including everyone from the elderly to newborn babies. It is certainly not easy nowadays to find a qualified Jewish tour guide, especially one who is English-speaking. All guides with Precious Legacy Tours are very qualified, but we cannot guarantee a Jewish quide. Your tour guide may be a member of the Prague Jewish community, a survivor of the Holocaust, a Ph.D. in Jewish history, or a fully authorized, licensed guide who has passed strict exams for the Jewish Museum of Prague following extensive training and education.
Tipping Guides and Drivers
On a full-day tour, it is customary to invite your guide and driver as your guests for lunch or a coffee break, if you are stopping. Tipping is welcome in this country. It is customary to tip both drivers and guides. A recommended tip is usually 10% of your bill if you’re satisfied with the tour. If you wish to tip, please do so in cash, as tipping with a credit card in the Czech Republic is complicated and taxable. Each hotel has envelopes at the reception desk. At the end of the tour, you can use envelopes from your hotel to tip your guide and driver.
