With a mixture of walking and driving we can take you round the Old and New towns of Prague (‘new’ in the 13^th century and on the left bank of the river, now the centre of the city, and 'old' on the right bank of the river). You can visit Wenceslas’ Square, site of the National Museum and the famous statue of St. Wenceslas. We’d drive you through the New Town, then take you walking around the winding streets of the Old Town, travelling along the beautiful, tree-lined Parizska street to the Old Town Square, home of the Old Town hall and its famous astronomical clock.

This introductory tour, complemented with walks and inside visits, will provide you with your first insights into the 'Golden City,' covering sites on both banks of the river. A comfortable car will take you by Wenceslas Square (with its famous statue of St. Wenceslas), the State Opera House, the National Museum, along cobblestone roads and over the Vltava River to the Prague Castle district. From there, we will embark on foot and past the Archbishop’s Palace to St. Vitus Cathedral. After viewing the cathedral (which took over 600 years to build), we will continue on to the Royal Palace, the Golden Lane and down the Old Castle Stairs. From there, our driver will bring us back over the Vitava River and down the exclusive Paris Street to the Old Town Square, where we’ll have a chance to see the Old Town Hall with its famous Astronomical Clock, St. Nicholas Church and Tyn Church.

You will visit several famous synagogues: the 13th century Old-New Synagogue is the oldest synagogue north of the Alps; the Pinkas Synagogue, now a hallowed museum dedicated to the Czech victims of the Holocaust, which includes a heart-rendering exhibition of drawings by the children of the Terezín Ghetto, the Klausen Synagogue, which contains a permanent collection of lore surrounding the Maharal; the Maisel synagogue with its extensive collection of Judaica; and the newly restored Spanish synagogue, built in the Moorish style. Also included is a visit to the Chevrah Kaddisha building and the Old Jewish Cemetery, with its densely packed layers of graves up to 12
levels deep.

An in-depth tour of the remarkable Strahov Monetary, a Renaissance medical and natural history museum, and of Prague’s Castle Quarter, allows a visitor to plunge into the civil and religious life of this ancient capital from its inception in the ninth century to the present. The Castle complex rivals any in Europe. It is now the seat of the country's president and government, as well as the home of St Vitus Cathedral, begun at the same time as Notre Dame cathedral in Paris and with stained-glass windows to match. Strahov monastery is one of the oldest surviving monasteries in Europe, active almost continually since the 12th century, and with an intact library containing works dating back centuries. We’d also take you down the Golden Lane, seeing the haunts and homes of Kafka and Mozart in Mala Strana’s tiny, winding streets.
