| The
name “Precious Legacy” Tours was inherited from
the name of the international exhibit of Czech
Judaica that travelled throughout Israel, The United
States, and Australia in 1983.
The Czech Republic boasts one of the largest
collections of Judaica in the World. The
extraordinary number of items from Jewish life were
preserved by the Prague Jewish Museum after being
confisicated by the Nazis during World War II. (Award) |

Of particular interest is the fact
that the Nazis allowed for the preservation of these items so that
they would serve as artifacts of what Hitler hoped would be an
extinct race.

individuals and groups in North America who wish to build a
suitable itinerary for their visit to Central Europe.
Our travel agency is committed to
making sure that both the casual visitor as well as the
experienced world traveller can take full advantage of what the
city has to offer. We accomplish these goals the simple way: by
providing our visitors with not only the most competent, trained
and licensed guides, but also by making sure our visitors' every
need is met with competence and a smile
To come to Prague is to take a
centuries-long step back in history, to stroll among epochs of
remarkably preserved architecture in colours, designs and textures
only mimicked in other places around the world. Prague is the
destination of choice for millions of visitors who come here
each year to see the ancient Jewish Quarter, known as
Josefov, founded before the year 1000! Imagine, to see first hand
the oldest continuously-used synagogue north of the Alps; a
cemetery which is like an encyclopaedia of history, one
tombstone older than the next, stacked against each other in a
sight which amazes, haunts and reminds the visitor of the
importance of understanding how history unfolded. The Jewish
Quarter is also home to the Jewish Museum, a complex of
five former synagogues housing one of the world's largest
collections of Judaica - our Precious Legacy.
Similarly, Prague's vast array of national museums,
collections, and the Hradcany Castle complex (once the seat of
Bohemian kings and the Holy Roman Empire, today the Castle
houses the office of the President) are major attractions and a
delight to the eye. The Castle grounds feature the "Golden
Lane", an unforgettable cobblestone alley lined with
three-quarter sized-townhouses dating from the 16th century.
Former residents of the Golden Lane have included soothsayers,
alchemists and even writer Franz Kafka (The Metamorphosis, The
Castle, America...), who stayed on the Golden Lane for two years
in a vain attempt to find peace in the busy city.
We are in the business of making sure every visitor in our care
will get the very most of their visit to our city and
country. We are pleased to be able to say to ourselves at the
end of every working day that we have succeeded if we are to
judge by the accolade we receive from clients who have even become
our friends over the years we have been in business. On that
note, we look forward to welcoming you to the Czech Republic and
helping to provide you with an unforgettable, wonderful
experience!
Entirely Yours,
